If you’re staying in or near Asheville, North Carolina, or planning a trip in the near future, spend part of your stay tubing or floating the beautiful French Broad River. We’ve provided some tips to help get the most out of your adventure!

Float Trip and Tubing Tips - Make It Awesome!

• Float time is between an hour and a half and two hours or so. Add in a little time for exploration and lunch or a snack, and it’s a perfect half day trip.
• Make sure to wear good water shoes or tennis shoes. Don’t make the mistake of wearing flip-flops or sandals.
• If you’re sun sensitive, a good hat will help make sure you don’t burn.
• Please no glass containers or foam coolers on the river.
• Because the French Broad River runs through the Pisgah National Forest, you should know the applicable laws and regulations.
• There’s lots of wildlife to see and enjoy on your trip. Please take pictures and leave the wildlife undisturbed.
• Local law enforcement will keep an eye out for illegal drugs, underage drinking, and nudity. A float trip is not an excuse to party. Please have respect for other people enjoying the river.f you would like to avoid crowds, come anytime EXCEPT a Saturday in warm weather. The rest of the time, you’ll likely have the river to yourself.
